ELIZABETHTOWN VOL. FIRE & RESCUE FISH FRY AND PARADE
The Elizabethtown Fire & Rescue will have their Spring Fish Fry and Parade on Friday, June 6th and Saturday, June 7th.  The parade will be on Saturday with line up beginning at 10:00 AM.  Trophies will be presented to the best in class in the following categories: Antique Vehicle (Pre 1950), Classic (1950 - 1975), Farm, Street Rod/Modified, Truck, Open Class, Youth/Church Group, and Fire Department.  There will also be one overall Best of Parade Award.  For more information, call Dave Thompson at 579-9653 (day) or 579-9006 (evening).

GRACE LUTHERAN YOUTH RUMMAGE SALE

CLASSIC CAR CRUISE IS PART OF HABITAT'S SUMMERFEST
The Brown County Chamber of Commerce will present a Classic Car Cruise In from 2:00 - 7:00 PM on Saturday, June 7th as part of a full day of activities on Jefferson Street in Nashville.  The day starts off with a Farmer's Market from 8:00 AM - Noon, the Shriner's Charity Car Show from 8:00 AM - 2:00 PM, and Habitat's SummerFest from 2:00 - 7:00 PM.  SummerFest will feature live music, food & drinks, a bake sale, games, a Silent Auction, and Habitat will be building a mini barn on site.  Log Cabin Tour tickets will also be on sale.  For more information, call (812) 720-1900.

INDY KARTING SERIES SEYMOUR GRAND PRIX 
The
Lucas Oil Indy Karting Series Seymour Grand Prix will take place on June 7th and 8th at the Shoppes At Seymour located at 357 Tanger Boulevard near the intersection of I-65 and U. S. Hwy. 50 in Seymour.  The professional kart racing event, co-sponsored by the Greater Seymour Chamber of Commerce, in conjunction with the City of Seymour and the Seymour Park and Recreation Department, will begin on Saturday, June 7th , with registration at 7:00 AM followed by practice at 8:30 AM.  Qualifying on the nearly 4-acre track begins at 4:00 PM.  There is no event admission for spectators. ED LEWIS MEMORIAL GOLF TOURNAMENT
The 17th Annual Ed Lewis Memorial Golf Tournament to benefit Brown County Big Brothers/ Big Sisters will be held on Wednesday, June 11th at Salt Creek Golf Course in Nashville. Tee time is at 1:00 PM with a Shotgun Start. Cost is $85 per person, and includes Green fees, golf cart and a dinner buffet. GARDEN TOUR OF ST. JOHN'S LUTHERAN CHURCH WHITE CREEK
The Garden Tour of St. John's Lutheran Church and the White Creek community will be on Saturday, June 14th from 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM.  The garden tour starts at St. John's Lutheran Church, White Creek, 16720 S. 300 W, Columbus, plus 8 other area gardens.  Tickets may be purchased for $7.50 per person at the church which includes a map and admission to all 9 gardens.  Lunch will be served from 11:00 AM - 1:30 PM.  There will also be a Plant Sale at the church.  For more information, call the church at 342-3516.

V-B-S AT REFORMED PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH IN COLUMBUS
A Vacation Bible School will be held from June 16th - 20th at the Reformed Presbyterian Church, 550 N. CEMETERY OUTREACH MEETING IN COLUMBUS
State laws that govern the archaeology and impact cemetery preservation will be changing in July.  The Indiana D-N-R Division of Historic Preservation and Archaeology will hold a meeting open to the public on Saturday, June 14th at the Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home, 3855 25th Street, Columbus, at 3:00 PM.  For more information, call Jeannie Regan-Dinius, Cemetery Registry Coordinator for the D-H-P-A, at (317) 234-1268.

CROTHERSVILLE'S RED, WHITE AND BLUE FESTIVAL
The Crothersville Red, White and Blue Festival will be held Thursday, June 12th through Saturday, June 14th, on the grounds of Crothersville Community Schools. The festival, in its 33rd year, will kick off on Thursday with booths opening at 5:00 PM and opening ceremonies at 5:30 PM.  Crothersville FFA pork burgers, fish, homemade ice cream and barbecue are just a few of the treats to feed your hunger while you stroll through the vendors set up on the streets.  Free stage entertainment will be provided throughout the festival. An antique tractor will be on display, as well as hit and miss engines. A Pedal Tractor Pull and a talent contest will also be held. ANNUAL BROWN COUNTY HILLS CHALLENGE BIKE RIDE
The Brown County Citizen's Scholarships and the Brown County Parks and Recreation Department will have their 5th Annual Brown County Hills Challenge Bike Ride on Saturday, June 14th and Sunday, June 15th.  Riders can register for 4 different routes of 25, 40, 50, and 100 miles.  Register online at www.bcparksrec.com for Saturday's ride or register at the Brown County Fairgrounds starting at 7:00 AM.  There will be a Father's Day Breakfast Ride beginning and ending at the Story Inn.  A breakfast buffet will be served.  Lunch will be served at the 4-H Fairgrounds for all registered riders both days.  To register for more information, go to www.bcparksrec.com or call the Brown County Parks and Recreation Dept. at (812) 988-5522.

YOUTH RALLY AT FAITH BAPTIST CHURCH IN GREENSBURG

COLUMBUS NORTH CLASS OF '88 20 YEAR REUNION

HOPE'S ANNUAL HOMECOMING CLASSIC CAR SHOW & CRUISE IN
The Community Center of Hope, Inc. will present Hope's Annual Homecoming Classic Car Show & Cruise In on Saturday, June 21st on the Hope Town Square from 8:00 AM - 2:00 PM.  Registration will be from 8:00 - 11:00 AM for $15 which includes the Poker Run.  There will be a breakfast served by the Kiwanis from 7:30 - 10:30 AM, Door Prizes awarded every hour from 9:00 AM - 2:00 PM, Lunch will be served from 11:00 AM - 2:00 PM, and Car Show awards will be presented at 2:00 PM in 17 categories.  A Poker Run will leave at 2:30 PM with a $100 Poker winner determined at 3:30 PM at the Community Center of Hope.  For more information, call the Community Center of Hope at (812) 546-4499. 

A TASTE OF WINE AND BLUES
The Jackson County chapter of the American Red Cross will be hosting its inaugural wine festival on Saturday, June 21st from 11:00 AM -  7:00 PM at AEL BEKA Estates, located at 941 N Co Rd 250 E in Brownstown.   Wineries in this wine festival benefiting the American Red Cross include Ferrin’s Fruit Winery, Simmons Winery, French Lick Winery, Buck Creek Winery, Chateau di Pique, Turtle Run Winery, Huber Winery and Chateau Thomas. Tickets are $20 per guest and available at the Red Cross office in Seymour or by calling Wilma at 812-522-3888. 

ANNUAL FIREFIGHTER CHALLENGE IN JONESVILLE
The 3rd Annual Firefighters Challenge will be on Saturday, June 21st at the Jonesville Fire Station 2, 849 E. 450 S., starting at 11:00 AM.  There will be firefighter games, a fish fry, and children's games.  Fire departments from all over Bartholomew County have been invited to participate.

RIDE TO RECYCLE
The 11th Annual Jackson County Ride to Recycle will be held Saturday, June 21st, and will begin at Seymour High School. The ride is produced by the Recycling Committee of the Greater Seymour Chamber of Commerce.  The ride features 5, 20, 40, 60 and 100 mile routes, scenic vistas, historic German country churches, round barns, a covered bridge, SAG stops and flat, well-marked, all new routes. Helmets are required. Registration begins at 6:30 AM at the Seymour High School and the ride will begin at 7:00 AM. A 5-mile slow ride will begin at 11:00 AM.  Pre-registration is $30 and includes a t-shirt. Registration the day of the ride is $35. DR. “BUD” CHARITY GOLF TOURNAMENT
The 28th Annual Dr. “Bud” Charity Golf Tournament will be held Wednesday, June 25 at Shadowood Golf Course in Seymour.  All proceeds from the annual tournament provide scholarships for registered nursing students in Jackson, Jennings, and Scott counties. Entry fee includes a donation to the Dr. “Bud” Scholarship fund, green fees, golf cart, lunch and refreshments, and a gift. PICNIC WITH THE POPS
The annual Picnic with the POPS celebration will take place on Saturday, June 28th at the Ivy Tech-Bloomington campus located on the corner of State Road 48 west and Daniels Way on the west side of Bloomington. The gates open at 5:00 PM and the concert featuring the Bloomington POPS, begins at 8:00 PM.  Seating in the blanket area are $10 per adult, $5 for children 6-18 years old, and no charge for children 5 years and under. Tickets can be purchased in advance of the event at all Bloomington Marsh supermarkets, O’Malias and via the POPs website, www.bloomingtonpops.org.

CARS & GUITARS CRUZ-IN - JUNE 28
The Cars & Guitars Cruz-In will be held June 28th in the streets of downtown Seymour. There will be no awards, just great door prizes totaling more than $10,000.  Registration begins at 2:00 PM in front of the Jackson County Public Library and is $15. Those that enter before June 1 will receive a free t-shirt. The Bartholomew Consolidated School Corporation is sponsoring free meals for children this summer under the USDA's Summer Food Service Program for Children.  Sites will be open to the public and meals are free to children up to the age of 18.  Adults can purchase lunch for $2.50.  Program sites include the Foundation for Youth, 9th Street Park, Pence Street Park, and Clifty Creek, Taylorsville, Schmitt, and Parkside Elementary Schools.  Call 376-4462 for more information.
