Frances Clara Price

Age 88

Died on Thursday, May 29th at the Four Seasons Health Care Center in Columbus.  Before moving to Columbus in 2003, she lived in Daytona Beach, FL.  She was employed by the St. Paul's Catholic School as a secretary for a year, then as a teacher there for many years.  She taught at the Lenox Avenue School, Longstreet Elementary, and Riverview & Holly Hill Elementary Schools in Florida.  She was an active member of the Florida Teachers Association, the Florida Retired Teachers Association, Delta Kappa Gamma International, the Association for Childhood Education International, the Florida Association of Family and Community Education, and the Croatian Fraternal Union of America.  She was a member of the Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church in Daytona, and then became a member of the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Edinburgh.  She enjoyed traveling, and crocheting baby afghans for the Pregnancy Crisis Center in Daytona and the Pregnancy Care Center in Columbus.

 

She is survived by a daughter: Gay M. Weimer; 4 grandchildren: Matthew, Nicholas, Zachary, & Anna Weimer; a brother: Frank Zic; and nieces and nephews.  She is preceded in death by her parents: Frank and Anna Fodor Zic; husband: John S. Price; and a brother: Edward Zic.

 

Visitation will be on Wednesday, June 4th from 4:00 - 8:00 PM at the Four Seasons Retirement Center Chapel.  The rosary will be recited at 7:30 PM.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Saturday, June 7th at 10:00 AM at the St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church in McKeesport, PA.  Interment will follow at the St. Clare Cemetery in Clairton, PA.  Memorials may go to the Hospice of South Central Indiana, Just Friends, or the Holy Trinity Catholic Church Car Team.  Arrangements were made by the Myers-Reed Dignity Memorial Chapel on 25th Street in Columbus.  Online condolences may be made at www.mem.com.

 

             

Joann Brandyberry

Age 63

Butlerville

 

Died on June 3rd at Community Hospital South in Greenwood.  She is survived by her husband: Don Brandyberry; a daughter: Sandi Hoene; 2 sons: Steve West and Eric Brandyberry; 2 brothers: Raymond and Jackie Grogan; and 5 grandchildren.  

 

A memorial service will be conducted on Friday, June 6th at 3:00 PM in the chapel of the Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Madison.  Arrangements were made by the Sawyer-Pickett Funeral Home in North Vernon. 

 

 

John W. Davis

Age 78

Central Avenue

Columbus

 

Died on Monday, June 2nd at the Four Seasons Health Care Center in Columbus.  He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1951 - 1955.  He retired from the Bartholomew Consolidated School Corporation where he was an elementary principal.  He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, past president of the Columbus Elementary Principal's Association, the Columbus Exchange Club, and the School Foundation board of directors.

 

He is survived by his 2 daughters: Janet Shultz and Julie Kinsolving; a sister: Kate Boyce; and 2 grandsons: Jacob Shultz and Eric Kinsolving.  He is preceded in death by his parents: Victor and Helen Lapping Davis.

 

Visitation will be on Saturday, June 7th from 4:00 PM until service time at the Four Seasons Retirement Center Chapel.  A memorial service will follow at 5:00 PM at the chapel.  Cremation is planned.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may go to the Four Seasons Health Care Center.  Arrangements were made by the Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home in Columbus.  Online condolences may be made at www.barkesweaverglick.com.

 

 

Florence M. Innis

Age 90

Died on Tuesday, June 3rd at the Columbus Health and Rehabilitation Center.  She retired as a bookkeeper from Columbus Internal Medicine, and was a member of the East Columbus United Methodist Church.

 

She is survived by her husband: Elbert C. Innis; and several nieces and nephews.  She is preceded in death by her parents: Matthew and Minnie Taylor Ward; a brother: Lester Ward; and a sister: Bernice Gutknecht. 

 

Visitation will be on Friday, June 6th from 4:00 - 7:00 PM and Saturday from noon until service time at the Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street in Columbus.  The funeral service will be on Saturday, June 7th at 1:00 PM at the funeral home.  Entombment will follow at the Garland Brook Mausoleum. Henry T. "Ted" Bowman

Age 87

Died on Wednesday, June 4th at the Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility in Columbus.  He was a veteran of W.W. II who proudly served aboard the USS California (BB-44).  He retired from Arvin Industries after 34 years.  He was a member of the Old Union United Church of Christ in Edinburgh, the Loyal Order of the Moose for over 50 years, and the Hoosier Mustang Club.

 

He is survived by a son: Brain L. Bowman; a granddaughter: Jennifer M. Bowman; 3 daughters: Beverly E. Downing, Linda C. Bowman, and Delores A. Marr; 4 additional grandchildren; a great-grandson; and a special friend: Elaine Pope.  He is preceded in death by his parents: Henry Sylvanus and Pearl Elizabeth Bowman; a son: Henry T. Bowman, Jr.; 2 sisters; and 2 brothers.

 

Visitation will be on Friday, June 6th from 4:00 - 7:30 PM at the Hathaway-Myers Dignity Memorial Chapel on Pearl Street in Columbus.  A Moose memorials service will follow visitation at the funeral home.  Graveside inurnment will be on Saturday, June 7th at 2:00 PM at the Garland Brook Cemetery.  Military rites will be conducted by the Bartholomew County Veterans Color Guard.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may go to either the Old Union United Church of Christ or the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund at www.fallenheroesfund.org.  Online condolences may be made at www.mem.com.

Died on Wednesday, June 4th at the home of her mother.  She was a substitute elementary school teacher.  She is survived by her mother: Jeanine Bertram Berkshire; a sister: Linda Allen; and 2 nephews: Devin & Shane Medaris.  She is preceded in death by her father: Dr. Shaffer B. Berkshire.  

 

Visitation will be on Saturday, June 7th from 4:00 PM until service time at the Hathaway-Myers Dignity Memorial Chapel on Pearl Street in Columbus.  The funeral service will follow at 5:00 PM at the funeral home. Jarrod Daniel Judd

Died on Wednesday, June 4th at Columbus Regional Hospital.  He worked at Sterling Industries.  He was a very proud and gifted tatoo artist going by the name of "Judd Style".  He loved his daughters and was proud of them.

 

He is survived by his parents: Jerry D. Judd and Lora Day Drummond; his companion: Natasha Sanders; 2 daughters: Mecailah Rayanne Gilley and Lilliahna Grace Judd; grandparents: Gerald "Jake" and Jessie Day and Betty Tays; and a sister: Savannah Drummond.

Ruth E. Nay Weihe

Died on Wednesday, June 4th at the Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility in Columbus.  Prior to her marriage, she was employed by H.L. Rost Jewelers and Singer Sewing Co. as a bookkeeper and salesperson.  She was a member of the St. Peter's Lutheran Church and enjoyed being a homemaker and caring for her garden and flowers.

 

She is survived by a brother: Don C. Nay; 2 nieces: JoAnne Anness and Angie Piper; a step-niece: Dr. Sally Brown; several cousins including Maurice Housefield; and caregivers: Norma Henderson, Chena Crider, Mildred Burnside, Lorene Martin, and Araina Vandiver.  She is preceded in death by her parents: O. Carl and Lyda Cotton Nay; her husband: C.L. Henry "Heinie" Weihe; and 2 sisters: Genevieve Nay and Lucille Nay Mancuso.

Died on Wednesday, June 4th at Columbus Regional Hospital.  He was a self-employed carpenter and former owner of Arachno-Ron's.  He enjoyed NASCAR, the Indianapolis Colts, and reptiles.

 

He is survived by his wife: Pamela S. Strevels; a daughter: Michelle Strevels; and 2 sons: Bill & Troy Cowan; 4 brothers: Ricky, Kenny, Lee, and David Strevels; and 5 sisters: Elsie Carroll, Pat Hardin, Bonnie Skirvin, Carolyn Robinson, and Barbara Harden.  He is preceded in death by his parents: Walter & Margaret Turner Strevels.

Died on Wednesday, June 4th at the Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility in Columbus.  

He is survived by his wife: Judy K. Dunn Snow; his parents: Clifford and June Mack Snow; a son: Robbie Snow; 2 daughters: Robin Yeager and Denise Kilburn; 3 brothers: Greg Nielsen, and Sonny & Paul Snow; 2 sisters: Sissy Dunn and Deanna Harold; and 8 grandchildren.

 

Visitation will be on Saturday, June 7th from 9:00 AM until service time at the First Church of the Nazarene.  The funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM at the church.  A committal service and burial will be on Saturday at 2:00 PM at the Union Flat Rock Cemetery in Ripley County.  Arrangements were made by the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home in North Vernon.  Memorials may be made through the funeral home.

 

 

Richard L. Wright

Age 69
