Columbus North will host Center Grove Friday night as Sectional play continues in football.  Join Sam Simmermaker and Dick Johnson for all the action starting with the pre-game show at 6:20 PM and kick off at 7:00 PM.

Columbus East at Madison sectional football tix on sale today and Friday at the East athletic office for $6. Fans need to plan an alternate route to the game as there is a bridge closure just south of Vernon on Highway 7. No pre-sale for Center Grove at Columbus North football.

PAAL 2nd annual Fall Bash All-Star Football Tourney Saturday & Sunday at the PAAL facility beginning at 10:00 AM on Saturday. Former NFL Pro-Bowl safety David Fulcher of the Bengals will speak to the players at 1:00 PM on Saturday.

HPW Wrestling Saturday at the 4-H Fairgrounds to benefit the Firemen's Cheer Fund starting at 7:30 PM. Doors open 6:45 PM.

Annual Columbus East girls basketball Orange-White scrimmage is Monday at 6:00 PM. No admission charge.


Columbus North's Anthony Sanders, Jake Lykins and Mitchell Miller, along with Seth Meyer of Columbus East, have been voted All-District 8 in boys tennis by the Indiana High School Tennis Coaches Association. Sanders and Lykins have also been named to the Southeast Squad for a Senior All-Star event November 1st at DePauw.

First-team all-District 5 soccer players from Columbus North: Addy Lang, Tamara Wurstle, Jarrett Stark, Brayton Thornburg & Andrew Gold.

Northside Middle School cross country MVPs: Olivia Morlock & Drew Smith.

Jim Brewer of Hartsville, a junior at Columbus East, is the 2014 Kentuckiana Motocross Open Champion.

Sydney Anderson, Columbus North senior, was among 21 girls recognized recently as an all-state player by the Indiana High School Golf Coaches Association.

Hauser freshman Andrew Titus has been invited to the 4th annual Indiana Elite Soccer Camp at Danville, IN, High School Stadium November 15th. It is the largest gathering of its type in the Midwest.

Congratulations to Luke Martin, who carved out a legendary media career at Columbus East, is graduating from Ball State in December. Luke has accepted a position with MLB Network in New York City. He will begin a three-month internship in January with a full-time offer to follow.

Ex-Columbus East baseballer Tim Bailey is the coach of the first lady softball team at Cleary University (Michigan).

"Bowl for Blake" is coming up Sunday, November 15th, at Columbus Bowling Center on State Street from Noon - 5:00 PM. Proceeds to Blake Hangar Memorial Scholarship Fund. There will also be live and silent auctions. For more information, call 343-9950.
