My pick is actually a movie I saw in theaters now available on DVD.
“Couples Retreat” stars Vince Vaughn, Jason Bateman and Kristen
Bell. Following failed attempts to having a baby. One couple is
close to getting a divorce and in order to try and save their
marriage they book a couples therapy retreat and to save money they
talk their close friends into joining them. Once they arrive they
learn that one side of the island is a singles resort but couples
are not allowed to go there and that the couples will have to will
attend the therapy so they can enjoy the benefits the island offers.
After their first therapy session all four couples learn they have
problems with their relationships and eventually by the end of the
trip realize they really did need this to help them. This is a very
funny movie with lots of fun.

There's no better way to bring in the new year if you're a Led
Zeppelin fan than with Zoso, the ultimate led Zeppelin experience,
playing at the Bluebird Nightclub in Bloomington new year's eve.
These guys look and sound as authentic as the originals, and play
all the juiciest material from “Led Zeppelin 1” through “In Through
The Out Door.” “Rock and Roll” to “Moby Dick” and a stirring
“Stairway to Heaven”, Zoso plays 'em all. And since a Led Zeppelin
reunion tour won't be happening anytime soon, this is truly the next
best thing. So get some led to rock in 2010!

This is one movie I’m sorry to say that I missed at the theater. The
Curious Case Of Benjamin Button. Set in the city of New Orleans the
day that Hurricane Katrina hits, an elderly woman asks her daughter
Caroline to read from a diary left to her by a man named Benjamin.
Born on the same day World War I ended, Benjamin Button's mother
died giving birth to him. As a newborn, Benjamin was old and
wrinkled and his father Thomas Button leaves him on the doorstep of
an old folk's home. Benjamin is taken in and taken care of by the
people there. Benjamin soon realizes that he is growing younger, not
older however. Early on, he meets the love of his life, Daisy, only
a little girl who grows into a beautiful woman while Benjamin grows
into a handsome young man. Their lives take lots of different turns
and making a life together of limited duration given their
ultimately different fates. It’s a rather long movie but a great
story line and very entertaining.

Big Dreams & High Hopes
Texan Jack Ingram's Big Dreams & High Hopes album finally
hit stores after a couple of delays by Jack’s own “perfectionism”.
He wanted to make sure this new release sounded as good as it could.
Guess what, Jack? You delivered! His 8th album and 2nd for Big
Machine records has all the right stuff and so far "That’s a Man”
has charted in the Top 20, followed by "Barefoot and Crazy” , which
is currently racing up the charts. For you die hard Ingram fans,
check out the new version of “Barbie Doll” which originally appeared
on his 1999 release “Hey You”. Check out "The World Ain't Slowing
Down", this may be the song that takes Ingram to the "next level”.
It’s obvious Ingram is taking the promotion his latest release
seriously…On August 26, Ingram set a Guiness record for the most
radio interviews in one day, when he was interviewed 150 times! “Big
Dreams and High Hopes” is an album Ingram can truly be proud to have
made and you will be proud to own it.

Reality Shows
If you’re a homeowner, you might enjoy HGTV’s
“House Hunters” weeknights at 10:00PM. The show is hosted by Suzanne Whang and it features individuals, couples or families as they
choose among 3 properties they are considering. It’s billed as a
“reality show” but it really isn’t since most of the buyers are
already well-involved in the house-hunting effort. My wife and I
enjoy trying to guess which one of the three properties the buyers
will pick and I’ve gotten pretty good at that. It’s also interesting
to see how real estate prices vary across the country.

“He’s Just Not That Into You”
My “Zone Pick” is actually a movie I missed in the theater but am
glad I rented! “He’s Just Not That Into You” starring Ben Affleck
and Jennifer Aniston, Drew Barrymore and a host of others. The movie
is set in Baltimore, it’s a story of five women and four men who try
to sort out the signals that the sexes exchange. Gigi thinks every
man she meets is Mr. Right but, she gets reality checks from Alex, a
sweet but cynical saloon keeper. Janine and Ben seem solidly married
until he chats with Anna, meanwhile Anna is indifferent to the
pursing Connor. Neil and Beth have been together seven years but she
dumps him when she realizes he isn't going to marry her. Does he
love her? Will those in love stay in love? Will those searching
figure out who is and who isn't into them? Are men all that
different from women? All these questions when answered come
together for one great movie. I was VERY entertained and give it two
thumbs up.

NFL training camps
NFL training camps opened up this past weekend and the Colts are
once again hosting the ever popular “Colts City” in Terre Haute.
Saturday would be a great opportunity to make some lasting memories
with your kids. Colts City is open from 8am-11:30am and there's lots
of reasons to go including the Colts-In-Motion traveling museum,
Colts cheerleaders, Blue-the mascot, Colts Inflatable's, free
giveaways and much more. Of course, you get a chance to see Peyton
Maning and the Colts too. They take the practice field at 9:30.
Should make for great memories!

“Monday Night Wars”
Not since the days of the “Monday Night Wars” in the mid to
late 90’s have there been so many hours of professional wrestling
available on your TV every week. World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE)
alone is responsible for six hours of new programming each week.
Luckily, WWE is no longer the only game in town. Some of the best
action on television is Ring of Honor (ROH). Currently airing every
Saturday night from 8 to 9 p.m. on HDNet, ROH will be moving to
Monday nights at 8 p.m. on August 17. If you are a pro wrestling
fan, but find WWE lacking, give Ring of Honor a shot. I’m guessing
you will be impressed.
