Hill Announces Grant for North Vernon Airport
Hill Announces Grant for North Vernon Airport
The Federal Aviation Administration has awarded the City of North Vernon $150,000.00 to design for the rehabilitation of the T-Hangar taxiway and rehabilitation of the apron at the Airport. According to a release issued by the U.S. Department of Transportation, funds are needed to update the existing pavements that are in poor condition. In response to news of the grant, Ryan Curry, North Vernon Airport Director, said he “is very thankful to Baron Hill for his support in obtaining this grant.” Curry said the money will be used "for the design of two projects critical to the airport’s growth.” Hill said he was “very pleased the North Vernon Airport will be able to make these improvements because of this grant money”. The Congressman praised city and airport officials for securing the funds neccessary to keep the airport running smoothly.
