A Greenwood-based charity got a huge financial boost from PepsiCo to further their cause. Wish-4-Our-Heros is one of 6 charities in the country to receive 50-thousand dollars from PepsiCo for their causes in the Pepsi refresh project. Wish-4-Our-Heros founder Jeff Wells says the online voting effort was amazing for the 5-month-old charity that competed against organizations in operation for decades.

Wish-4-Our-Heros grants need-based wishes to military members and their families across the country. Wells says all of the grant money will be used for wishes directly and not administrative costs or marketing. Pepsi will help with marketing efforts in other ways.

Wells says the Pepsi refresh project also helped the organization attract attention from celebrities. They now have a permanent E-bay site to auction off celebrity items for additional fundraising. More information on this Indiana charity is available at www.wish4ourheroes.org.
