Woman Dies After Being Hit By A SUV

An elderly Jennings County woman died after being hit by an SUV Tuesday as she was crossing North State Street just north of FDR Drive in North Vernon.

According to Officer Scott Willis with the North Vernon Police Department, the SUV's driver, 29-year-old David Craft, of Batesville, hit 82-year-old Rellie Fish of North Vernon on the northbound side of the highway around 11:20 a.m.

Police say no charges have been filed in the incident. It remains under investigation.
