School Safety Meeting Set For Tuesday In Seymour

Seymour Community Schools will be holding a public meeting to discuss what it can do to keep kids and staff safe Tuesday. The meeting will begin at 7 p.m. at the Seymour Middle School cafeteria.

The "Seymour Tribune" reports school administrators have been reviewing school safety plans and procedures since last December’s school shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Connecticut and more recent local incidents, including a bomb threat at Seymour Middle School.

Seymour Interim Superintendent Robert Hooker told the paper anyone is welcome to speak to administrators and the school board about their concerns with school safety procedures during the meeting and offer suggestions for making the schools safer.
