A North Vernon man was arrested recently on meth-related charges.

Major Jerry Shepherd, with the Jennings County Sheriff's Office, says 23-year-old Jacob D. Jones is charged with dealing in methamphetamine and two counts of possession of methamphetamine. Jones was booked in the Jennings County Jail.

Major Shepherd says when he was checking what appeared to be a stranded motorist sitting in the roadway about a half-mile from his home in Spencer Township; he found that Jones possessed a large amount of methamphetamine and a syringe. Shepherd also found eight grams of meth on Jones. He was then taken into custody on the charges and booked into jail.
