The Columbus Redevelopment Commission held a special meeting Tuesday night at City Hall. Heather Pope, Redevelopment Director for the city of Columbus, says the meeting was about educating the commission about Tax-Increment Financing, or TIF, Districts.
Pope says TIF Districts are created to help encourage economic revitalization for one particular area. She says there are four TIF Districts in Columbus. Each district is scheduled to remain in place for 35 years.
Pope says Costas Poulakidis of Krieg-DeVault lead Tuesday night's presentation. She adds that the Redevelopment Commission did not conduct any official business during the meeting.
You can see the presentation online by visiting the city of Columbus' website at www.columbus.in.gov.
