The Indiana Supreme Court has suspended the law license of Bartholomew County Council legal adviser Rod McGillivray for failing to live up to continuing education requirements.
Our news gathering partners at "The Republic" report that the Supreme Court's ruling, which took effect June 27, prohibits McGillivray from giving legal advice to the council or handling private clients' cases until he gets his educational hours in order.
The paper reports that McGillivray is blaming paperwork delays for the Supreme Court's action. He said he did what he thought was the required number of classes in February but has another hour to complete as part of a penalty. McGillivray says he expects the issue to be resolved by Friday.
