The Republican primary for Bartholomew County Sheriff continues to get more crowded.
Capt. Rob Kittle, who has served Bartholomew County in multiple capacities, announced this week that he plans to seek the Republican nomination for sheriff in next year’s election.
Our news gathering partners at "The Republic" reports that Kittle, the training coordinator for the sheriff’s department, has 28 years experience in local law enforcement, having served both as a deputy and with the Columbus Police Department. Kittle is currently serving as a member of the Bartholomew County Council and is a former Columbus City Council member.
Sheriff Mark Gorbett is leaving office after eight years due to term limits.
