A Morgan County man was arrested recently on allegations that he would not leave a Brown County woman alone.
Just after 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Brown County Sheriff's deputies were called to a home at 4014 Hoover Rd. on a complaint that a protective order was being violated. Deputies were told that 52-year-old Jerry Wagers, of Morgantown, was seen on the property with a woman who has an active protective order him. Wagers allegedly fled the scene and successfully hid from the officers.
Later that evening, police received another call indicating that Wagers was on the same property again. Deputy Nathan Tompkins arrived on scene and found Wagers inside the home with the woman. Tompkins arrested Wagers and took him to the Brown County Jail. He is being held on one preliminary charge of invasion of privacy.
