The Bartholomew County Planning Commission meets Wednesday night with the Columbus Planning Commission for its annual meeting.
Columbus Planning Director Jeff Bergman says this is an opportunity for the two departments to get together, train and discuss different perspectives on current and upcoming projects. He adds that both departments share staff, so he doesn't expect any surprises to come out of the meeting.
Columbus Mayor Kristen Brown will also be attending this meeting. She says she will be making a special presentation on "Advance Columbus." Mayor Brown describes it as a "community-wide strategic plan." Along with "Advance Columbus," Brown says she will also be making a presentation on the Columbus Arts District strategic plan. She says these presentations will help the Bartholomew County Commissioners better understand the city's overall priorities when they need to make decisions that affect Columbus and the surrounding areas.
Wednesday's meeting will be held inside of the meeting room at City Hall starting at 6 p.m. City and county residents are encouraged to attend.
