Indiana Conservation Officers are investigating the apparent drowning death of a Greenwood man in the White River Thursday.
Officials say 29-year-old Adam Fuller had been kayaking with a friend on the river just downstream from the IPL dam north of Martinsville when his kayak flipped losing some of his fishing gear into the river.
Fuller had beached the kayak and began wading out into the river, trying to retrieve his fishing equipment when he was swept under by the current. Fuller was wearing a life jacket; however the undertow was so strong that it did not allow him to surface.
A call about what happened to Fuller was reported at 7:15 p.m. He was recovered from the river with an Indiana Conservation Officer's airboat at 10 p.m. The official cause of death will not be determined until after the autopsy on Friday.
