A Johnson County man was arrested Monday night after allegedly firing a gun in Brown County State Park campground.
Indiana Conservation Officer Angela Goodman says 22-year-old Ken Takamure, of Franklin, was taken into custody by Indiana Conservation Officers and the Brown County Sheriff's Office without incident. He faces preliminary charges of criminal recklessness with a firearm and possession of a handgun without a permit.
Goldman says around 10 p.m., a group of campers noticed Takamure acting strange and carrying a handgun.
As they left the campsite to report him to the campground gatehouse, they heard Takamure fire the gun. It's unclear how many times the gun was fired. No one was hit by the gunfire. No property was damaged. Takamure was then arrested and charged.
Goldman says as the investigation continues and the case is reviewed by the Brown County Prosecutor's office, additional charges may be added.
