The Jackson County Water Utility has issued a boil water advisory for some customers in the south central portion of Jackson County.
The affected area is south of County Road 275 South along County Road 300 West and includes the Starve Hollow Lake area. The advisory also includes County Road 400 South, County Road 450 South and County Road 540 South.
The advisory is due to an outage that happened Tuesday morning. Water service has since been restored. Officials say the advisory will not be lifted until testing can be done to confirm that dangerous bacteria is not in the water supply. That testing is expected to be completed by Friday afternoon.
Customers affected by the advisory should boil all cooking and drinking water for at least five minutes prior to consumption.
Customers with questions should contact Jackson County Water Utility, Inc. at 812-358-3654.
