"Feed My Starving Children" is a Christian nonprofit hunger relief organization that provides food to help communities in developing countries become self-sustaining.
In Columbus, organizers will be working to provide food packets out of the Asbury United Methodist Church. Volunteers will be working two hour shifts on Friday and Saturday, September 6 and 7. There will be a total of five shifts, with one Friday evening and the rest on Saturday.
Organizer Candy Spiker says they need help, specifically, financially to reach their goals. She said her group initially signed up to make 100,000 meals over four shifts. However, after those shifts quickly filled, Spiker says they were "moved by faith" to add a fifth shift.
If you would like to help, either through volunteering or financially, you are asked to visit the Asbury United Methodist Church's website at www.asburycolumbus.org. There, you will find a link to "Feed My Starving Children." Click on it and you can sign up to help, or donate money directly to the Columbus cause.
