A Kentucky man was arrested after a traffic stop in Brown County Friday night.
The Brown County Sheriff's Department is reporting that just before 7 p.m., Deputy Nathan Tompkins pulled a vehicle over at Jefferson and Franklin streets in Nashville after the vehicle failed to signal properly for a turn. A passenger in the vehicle said that he did not have ID and identified himself with a name and date of birth. Tompkins was able to determine that the passenger was not who he said he was and recognized him from a picture of a wanted person from Kentucky.
The passenger was identified a short time later as Randy Kauffman who had warrants for his arrest out of Arizona and Kentucky. The Kentucky warrant advised that he was to be considered armed and dangerous.
Kauffman was arrested on the warrants and for making a false identity statement to a law enforcement officer.
