If you would like to work as a substitute teacher during this school year in Jennings County, you need to attend an orientation meeting that will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 4 at the Jennings County Schools Central Office located at 34 Main Street. It will begin at 9 a.m.
Officials say the purpose of this meeting is to provide information through an in-service activity for those wishing to apply for placement on the school district's approved list of substitute teachers for this school year.

Substitute teacher rates for this year are:
LEVEL I: $60/day - High School Diploma/Transcripts
LEVEL II: $65/day - Associate's or Bachelor's Degree or Passing of the Parapro Praxis Test
LEVEL III: $70/day - Hold a Valid Indiana Teacher's License
LEVEL IV: $80/day - Retired Teacher (verification required)
The Jennings County School Corporation has modified its requirements to include persons who have graduated from an accredited high school and have documented educational experiences. In addition to attendance at this meeting, you are also required to submit updated credentials and complete employment applications.
The Jennings County School Corporation will be offering additional orientation meetings on the first Wednesday of each month for those who are unable to attend this meeting.
