Authorities in Lawrence County say the man driving the truck in a hit-and-run crash that killed a Medora teenager and injured another one Friday near the Lawrence-Jackson County line has turned himself into police.
The "Seymour Tribune" reports Cody Michael Silvers of Norman was arrested and booked into the Lawrence County Jail in Bedford shortly before 6 p.m. Tuesday on a Class C felony count of leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death and a Class D felony count of leaving the scene of an accident resulting in injury.
The charges stem from a wreck that led to the death of 16-year-old Kassi Richel Lewis-Yoskovich.
Police say Lewis-Yoskovich suffered fatal head injuries after being thrown from the moped she was riding with 14-year-old Noah Brown, of rural Medora.
Brown, a freshman at Medora, remained at Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis on Sunday, where he was flown for treatment for leg and hip injuries following the wreck.
