A Bargersville man was recently arrested in Johnson County after failing to properly register as a sex offender.
Johnson County Sheriff Doug Cox says 29-year-old Brandon Ragsdale was not living or working at the locations he registered. Ragsdale was also allegedly living with young children, a violation of his sex-offender status.
Investigators were initially tipped off in early August by a concerned citizen. They say Ragsdale was registered as living at an address on East Main Street in Greenwood. Authorities say he had been living at an address in Bargersville with a girlfriend and her three small children for over two weeks at the time the complaint was made.
Investigators also learned that Ragsdale had been fired from the job he had registered with authorities more than two months prior. He was allegedly working construction elsewhere for cash at the time of his arrest. Authorities say Ragsdale knowingly lied to authorities about his employment status. Investigators also allege that Ragsdale contacted his former employer and asked him to lie to authorities about his employment status.
Ragsdale was arrested by Sgt. Bill Pfifer and booked in the Johnson County Jail.
