The Johnson County Sheriff's Department arrested a Johnson County man on a number of charges after he allegedly pilfered through several unlocked vehicles.
Johnson County Sheriff Doug Cox says at 11:40 p.m. Sunday, one of his deputies conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle driven by 19-year-old Garrett Warner of Greenwood. Warner had allegedly been witnessed making entry into several parked vehicles in the Copperleaf Addition, taking change and other items.
Several stolen items were allegedly found in Warner's vehicle and were returned to the rightful owners. These items included change, an iPod and prescription medication.
Warner was booked in the Johnson County Jail. He is facing three counts of theft, three counts of unauthorized entry of a motor vehicle, two counts of possession of a legend drug and one count of possession of a controlled substance.
Sheriff Cox praised residents in the neighborhood for being alert, looking out for their neighbors and contacting police.
