Expansion efforts are underway at the Atterbury Bakalar Air Museum.
Jim Sellars is with the museum. He said the work is causing unforeseen issues, as the facility is now closed, likely through April.
"We found out that we have to have construction done on the existing building... because of that, we're going to have to close early," Sellers said. In fact, the museum closed up after the end of business on Saturday. He says it will likely be April before the facility is reopened, with the improvements.
Sellars said these expansion efforts have been a long time coming. He said plans were discussed six years ago, but the money to pay for the renovations was only recently obtained.
When completed, Sellars says the museum will be twice the size it is now. He says there will also be a number of new exhibits, a new library and conference room, to name a few.
