Two people have been arrested in connection with the theft of a saddle in Bartholomew County.
Maj. Todd Noblitt, with the Bartholomew County Sheriff's Office, says back in August, a man told sheriff's deputies that he had been approached by a couple, later identified as 28-year-old Lucas Senn and 18-year-old Heather Anderson, and asked him if he wanted to buy a saddle. The man saw several saddles for sale and immediately knew that one of the saddles belonged to a friend. The man told the couple that he was not interested in a saddle, but possible knew someone that may want to buy a saddle.
He immediately contacted the saddle's owner and told them what had happened. A meeting was arranged to view the saddles and the sheriff's office was contacted.
Deputy Adam Warner located Senn and Anderson at a business in southern Bartholomew County with the saddles and started an investigation into the thefts.
Anderson was arrested on a warrant charging her with felony possession of stolen property. Senn, currently incarcerated in the Johnson County Jail on unrelated criminal charges, has an outstanding warrant for his arrest charging him with felony possession of stolen property. Senn will be brought to Bartholomew County when his released from the Johnson County Jail.
The Bartholomew County Sheriff's Office is currently working with the Johnson County Officials to determine if other thefts in Bartholomew and Johnson counties may be related.
The value of the stolen saddle was $600.
