Salvation Army Seeks Volunteers for Red Kettle Campaign

Christmas is just over two months away and it won't be long before we start hearing folks ringing bells and taking your donations to help those in need in our community during the Salvation Army Red Kettle Campaign.

Lt. Alan Sladek, with the Salvation Army in Columbus, says this year's campaign will run from Nov. 18 through Christmas Eve. The Red Kettle Campaign is one of the organization's major fundraising efforts that helps support programs like utility/rental assistance and food boxes along with programs aimed at youth, women and men.

Sladek says volunteers are needed to ring bells for just two hours.

"If you are an organization, we have some fun things that we do during the season where if you want to come and challenge your groups and split up and take two locations, we'll throw a pizza party for the winning organization," Sladek said.

To find out how you can volunteer, call 812-372-7118 and reserve your kettle time.
