Marsh Supermarket Pharmacies will be accepting unwanted prescription medication across Indiana.
The Indiana Department of Environmental Management says the program helps to protect individuals, as well as the environment.
Marsh Pharmacies across the state will accept items from individuals, so long as they are in their original containers and fully visible. The medication name must be plainly visible, but the Rx number, as well as all personal information should be marked out with a black, permanent marker. Sharps must be sealed in a non-returnable, puncture-resistant container.
Items that will not be accepted include aerosols, inhalers, Nitroglycerine and products containing alcohol. IDEM adds that no controlled substances or illegal drugs will be accepted.
Items can be dropped off at Marsh Pharmacies Friday through Monday at the following times:
Fri. - 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Sat. - 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Sun. - 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Mon. - 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
