Two people were arrested on drug charges after Columbus Police investigated some suspicious activity coming from a vehicle that had pulled into the Marathon gas station on Washington Street Friday afternoon.

Columbus Public Safety spokesman Lt. Matt Myers says as COPPS Officer Troy Love was taking with four people inside the vehicle, he suspected one of them to possibly be intoxicated or possibly high on illegal drugs. As the investigation continues, police found hypodermic syringes on two of the people of the vehicle.

Myers says 18-year-old Taylor R. Giddens, of Franklin, and 22-year-old Brittany G. Wilson, of Columbus, were preliminary arrested for unlawful possession of a syringe. Police also found a small amount of meth on Gidden as well.

Gidden also faces a preliminary charge of possession of methamphetamine as well. Both are being lodged in the Bartholomew County Jail.
