Improvements to a Bartholomew County road are on the way.
Our news gathering partners at "The Republic" report county road crews soon will tackle a deteriorating section of County Road 325W, an increasingly popular shortcut for those living on the west side of Columbus and the county.
County Engineer Danny Hollander told the paper the county will take over several abandoned properties, straighten several sharp curves and resurface the road between County Road 200N and Lowell Road.
The 4,200-foot-long stretch of road runs close beside Driftwood River and is a major part of a back route between U.S. 31 to the north and State Road 46/Jonathan Moore Pike to the south.
