The Columbus Redevelopment Commission held a special meeting Wednesday evening to hear the Tenant Review Committee's recommendation of who should get the site inside The Commons formerly utilized by Scotty's Burger Joint.
A total of four bids were considered. In the end, the Tenant Review Committee said that Jordy McTaggeter's Grill & Pub proposal met most of the ideals wanted for a tenant in that space, which consists of 5,511 square feet. According to the bid proposal, Jordy McTaggeter's is an Irish and British style pub that would employ 70 to 80 people and utilize the entire space.
Up next in the process, Redevelopment Commission Attorney Stan Gamso will work with owners of the business to create a lease palatable to both sides. Once that is complete, the commission can officially recommend the proposal to the Columbus City Council. That body is required to approve any contracts or leases totaling more than $25,000 per year. Once the lease is signed, company officials hope to have the pub open for business within 120 days.
