The Flat Rock-Hawcreek School Corporation is one of 17 school corporations in the state to not have a contract with its teachers.
Larry Simpson, with the Hope Star-Journal, says he doesn't have specific knowledge of what issues are holding up a contract from being agreed too. He did touch on some overarching issues of concern, though. According to Simpson, some of the issues that led to the current situation include the ongoing school construction project, a remonstrance, and a push from the state level to consolidate positions. Simpson says he will continue to report on school corporation issues.
Simpson added that Superintendent Dr. Kathy Griffey believes both sides will come to an agreement in the coming weeks.
