Woman Critically Injured in House Fire Passes Away

The coroner in Johnson County says the woman who was critically injured in a house fire Friday in Nineveh has passed away.

Craig Lutz told WCSI that Sirena Slusher-Abbott died around 1 a.m. Tuesday from her injures. The fire also killed her 6-month-old son, John Slusher Jr. and her 18-month-old daughter, Haley Slusher.

The "Daily Journal" is reporting on its website that the fire marshal has finished his investigation into the fire that happened at 1044 E. County Road 775S, but a report that includes the cause of the fire and where it started in the home is likely weeks away.
