A Medora couple was arrested on drug charges Friday night following a traffic stop on State Road 135 at the intersection of County Road 300 North in Jackson County.
The Jackson County Sheriff's Office says 37-year-old Michael McVay was charged with possession of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia. Thirty-year-old Megan Christopher-Bane was charged with violation of the legend drug act, possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia.
According to the police report, an officer pulled McVay's truck over for a headlight that was out around 8 p.m. When the officer approached the truck, he noticed the odor of burnt marijuana coming from inside it. The officer also noticed Christopher-Bane trying to hide something in her pants.
The officer had the couple get out of the truck. During the search of the truck, marijuana and paraphernalia was found. The officer also found on the woman more paraphernalia and hydrocodone pills.
The couple was then arrested and charged.
