The Indiana Department of Transportation will hold a public information meeting regarding a proposed intersection improvement project. The meeting is specifically about a proposed roundabout at U.S. 31 and County Road 400 South in Columbus. INDOT says the purpose of this project is to enhance safety and the mobility of drivers at the intersection.
INDOT says the intersection improvement project was once part of a larger project which included road rehabilitation, bridge replacement and bridge rehabilitation on U.S. 31 from U.S. 50 to County Road 50 North in Jackson and Bartholomew counties.
The meeting, set for December 18, will be held at Clifty Creek Elementary School. INDOT says the meeting will feature an open house session beginning at 5:30 p.m. followed by a formal presentation at 6 p.m. During the open house session, INDOT representatives will be available to address questions, comments and concerns. Project maps, displays and project information handouts will be available for viewing throughout the duration of the evening.
