One person was killed and three others were injured in a two-vehicle crash on the State Road 3 Bypass at Carver Street in Greensburg.
Sgt. Noel Houze, with Indiana State Police in Versailles, says around 10:30 a.m., a SUV driven by 55-year-old Margaret L. Folkman, of Batesville, was going north on State Road 3 approaching Carver Street when another car driven by 57-year-old Linda L. Phillips, of Rushville, was going south on State Road 3 approaching Carver Street. Both vehicles had the green light, however Phillips failed to yield and turned left onto Carver Street into the path of the SUV. The SUV struck the car in the passenger side.
Phillips' husband, 65-year-old Stephen B. Phillips, was pronounced dead at the scene from multiple injuries. Linda Phillips was airlifted to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis with severe chest injuries.
Folkman and her passenger, 77-year-old Carol A. Firsich of Greensburg, were both taken to Decatur County Hospital in a private vehicle to be examined for pain in the lower extremities.
The Decatur County Sheriff's Office, Greensburg Police, Greensburg Fire, Decatur County EMS and the Decatur County Coroner assisted State Police at the scene.
