The Columbus City Council has scheduled a special meeting for Tuesday night. The purpose is to hear and vote on a proposed lease agreement for the space inside The Commons that formerly housed Scotty's Burger Joint.
The Tenant Review Committee recommended to the Columbus Redevelopment Commission in November that the site go to Jordy McTaggeter's Grill & Pub. The group said that proposal met most of the ideals wanted for a tenant in that space. According to the bid proposal, Jordy McTaggeter's is an Irish and British style pub that would employ 70 to 80 people and utilize the entire 5,500-plus square foot space.
Since the lease is for more than $25,000 per year, this proposal must be approved by the Columbus City Council. Approval is expected.
Once the lease is signed, company officials hope to have the pub open for business within 120 days.
