During this holiday season, would-be thieves would love to steal your holiday cheer by stealing your packages from your car or maybe even from your home or garage.
Columbus Public Safety spokesman Lt. Matt Myers says you can protect yourself and your property, especially if you are in a vehicle, by making sure your merchandise is in the trunk or someplace where people can't see it. He also says you don't want to leave your purse, wallet or any credit cards in your vehicle.
Myers says people are going through parking lots looking in vehicles, and if they see something that they can get into quickly, they will grab it and run. He says if you hide your merchandise in your vehicle, and they don't see it, then it doesn't become a target. He also recommends locking the doors on your home or garage if you plan to be gone for any length of time so your valuables will stay safe.
