INDOT plans to present environmental assessment findings and discuss a preliminary engineering design for Phase II of the U.S. 50 North Vernon Bypass at an open house and public hearing on Wednesday at Jennings County High School.
At 5 p.m., graphic displays in the high school library will show various aspects of the proposed plans for the U.S. 50 East project. INDOT personnel and engineers from Parsons, the state's engineering design firm, will be on hand to answer questions.
At 6 p.m., the public hearing will begin in the school's GT Room, adjacent to the library. First, there will be a formal presentation made of the proposed project. Then, there will be a public comment period.
Individuals are encouraged to express concerns, comments and observations about Phase II of the project and INDOTs various environmental assessment findings. INDOT says these comments will be recorded as part of the public record-to be taken in consideration before final plan development.
