An employee of a funeral home in Bedford was arrested after allegedly battering a customer.
Sgt. Curt Durnil, with the Indiana State Police Post in Bloomington, says that just before 1 p.m. Thursday, Trooper Shea Teague was called to the Cresthaven Memory Gardens on Dixie Highway for a reported battery complaint. Upon his arrival, Trooper Teague spoke with the victim who advised he was there expressing his concerns about family burial plots when one of the employees struck him in the face several times.
While the trooper was speaking with the victim, Lawrence County Sheriff's Detective Tyler Phillips was speaking with the alleged suspect, 54-year-old Richard L. Radcliff, of Paoli. Radcliff allegedly told the detective that the victim had called him a derogatory name, so he punched him in the face four times.
Radcliff was arrested and booked in the Lawrence County Jail on a charge of battery.
