A Decatur County teen was killed in a Tuesday evening crash.
The Decatur County Sheriff's Department was called to State Road 3 at County Road 500 North on reports of a two-vehicle crash just before 6 p.m. Investigators say that a car driven by 18-year-old Isaiah Noah, of Clarksburg, was traveling east on County Road 500 North when he disregarded a stop sign at the intersection of State Road 3 and drove into the path of a pickup truck driven by 62-year-old Rebecca Smith, of Rushville.
Both vehicles left the roadway. Noah's car came to a stop in the side yard of a nearby residence. Smith's truck overturned on to the driver's side door and came to rest in the north bound lane of State Road 3. Both vehicles were totaled.
Noah's passenger, 15-year-old Lindsay Noah, of Clarksburg, was pronounced dead at the scene. She was a sophomore at North Decatur Junior/Senior High School. Isaiah Noah was taken to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis with head and possible internal injuries. Smith was taken to Decatur County Memorial Hospital with possible internal injuries.
The crash remains under investigation.
