Pizza Parlor Owner Misses Payment Deadline

The owners of Snappy Tomato Pizza, located inside The Commons in Columbus, missed their deadline this week to pay the city just over $27,000 in back rent, late fees and utility payments that they owe.

Our news gathering partners at "The Republic" report the city gave Larken & Co LLC, until Tuesday to make the payments. Stan Gamso, the Columbus Redevelopment Commission's attorney, told the paper he got a response from Larken's attorney, but would not say what they said because since the restaurant is in litigation, the correspondence would be kept confidential until a final resolution of the matter is resolved under Indiana law.

Gamso says the next step for the city will be to decide whether to consider repayment proposals, eviction or other options.
