Two homeless men were arrested on a number of charges in Brown County.
The Brown County Sheriff's Department responded to trespass complaint at 2:30 p.m. Friday. Deputies were sent to the property on Petro Road and learned that there was alsoa burglary, theft, criminal mischief and attempted arson to a shed.
That same day at 7:45 p.m., the property owner called the Sheriff's Department again. The resident told authorities thathe had just arrived at the property and an unknown man was striking his vehicle window with some type of weapon and yelling at him.
Law enforcement from the Sheriff's Department, Nashville Police Department and Indiana State Police arrived on the scene and began a search for the suspect. Two men were found hiding in the woods at 4879 Petro Rd. They were identified as Allen Beasley and Jarred Parton. Evidence found with the two men resulted in the pair being arrested on charges of burglary, theft, attempted arson, criminal mischief, trespass, possession of meth and possession of marijuana.
Beasley had to be transported to Columbus Regional Hospital. Police say he suffered from hypothermia after falling into water at some point while he was hiding from police. Parton was booked in the Brown County Jail.
