A Jennings County Commissioner was arrested Monday.
Our news gathering partners at "The Republic" report that Robert Willhite turned himself in Monday at the Jennings County Jail. According to the report, he is accused of theft and official misconduct, both Class D felonies.
Willhite reportedly posted $1,055 cash bond and was released a short time later. The newspaper conducted a short phone interview with Willhite and report that the embattled commissioner denied the allegations. As to whether or not he will continue to serve as commissioner while the charges are pending, Willhite said he could not answer that question at this time.
