The Jackson County Sheriff's Department is investigating an incident where someone, or group of people, stretched a cable across a county road Tuesday evening.
According to a report from the department, deputies responded to the 6000 block of County Road 50 North just before 8 p.m. When they arrived, they learned that a cable had been stretched across the top of a bridge. A driver was unable to see it before it was too late, causing a vehicle to strike it. The cable loosened up, causing minor damage to the vehicle. Luckily, no one was hurt.
Witnesses told authorities that just prior to the incident, a group of three people were seen in that area walking.
Anyone with information about this case is urged to call the Jackson County Sheriff's Department at (812) 358-2141.
