A Jackson County hospital has been named the most nurse-friendly in the nation.
Schneck Medical Center received the honor from www.TopRNtoBSN.com, an influential nursing career and education website. The list names hospitals in the United States that have demonstrated a high valuation of their nursing staff, provide employees with a host of benefits, support teams, and provide outstanding work environments.
Schneck's Director of Marketing and Public Relations, Stephanie Furlow, says the hospital was among an elite group of medical facilities honored. Other honorees included the Cleveland Clinic, Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, the Mayo Clinic and Johns Hopkins. Schneck was the only Indiana hospital named to the list.
According to Amy Bell, the list's lead editor, "We created this list to showcase the most nurse-friendly hospitals in the U.S. and explore the benefits, programs and facilities available to fresh nursing staff - not least those who've completed or who are looking to achieve a bachelor's degree in the subject. Our hope is that the article will help guide their choices when investigating potential workplaces or training grounds for the future."
Furlow went on to say that Schneck has twice been recognized by the Magnet accreditation system, as well as being listed as one of the top places to work in the state by several industry publications.
