Columbus Police Department made two arrests for child neglect on Sunday, where alcohol was a factor.
Lt. Matt Myers, spokesman for the departments, says that In the first incident on Sunday, police were called to a home in the 3600 block of Candlelight Drive at about 6 p.m. An 8-year-old girl had called her mom from her father's house, saying that her father would not wake up. The mother first tried and then police tried to wake the man up.
"After several attempts, the man did wake up," Myers said. "He stated that he had only been asleep for 10 minutes."
Myers said that the situation had already lasted more than 45 minutes at that point.
