Two injured in Jackson County motorcyle crash

A two motorcycle crash injured two people Friday afternoon in Jackson County.

Jackson County Sheriff's Department reports that Fred Hackman, 47, of Seymour was riding west on County Road 1000N  behind 50-year-old Gregory Trimpe of Seymour at about 2:30 Friday near the intersection with County Road 12000W. Hackman said that Trimpe ducked in front of him, he clipped Trimpe's back wheel and they both went down.

Trimpe hit his face and chest on the bike and the pavement, deputies said.  He was taken to a nearby helicopter landing area and then transported to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis by Stat Ambulance. Trimpe was diagnosed with a flailed chest injury.

Hackman suffered some cuts but told rescue workers that he was uninjured and declined treatment.
