Seymour Police announce drug take-back event

The Seymour Police Department, in conjunction with Walgreens Pharmacy, will participate in a National Drug Take Back Day on Saturday, April 26, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the Walgreens Pharmacy located at 319 E. Tipton Street.

The collection area will be inside Walgreens near the Pharmacy. The public is encouraged to bring in their expired or unwanted prescription medications to Walgreens at that time.

Seymour Police say prescription drug abuse and the illegal distribution of prescription drugs continues to be an ongoing problem. They add that this program is a way to remove expired and /or unwanted prescription medications from the community, hopefully lowering the potential for abuse and diversion.
