The Indiana Department of Transportation will shift traffic Monday as a second State Road 3 construction project gets underway at North Vernon. The state is widening the road from JFK Drive to the County Road 300 North bypass to accommodate a center lane for left turns at the JFK intersection.
To make way for construction activities on the east side of State Road 3, INDOT says traffic will be routed to the west side of the roadway. Flaggers will be present Monday morning to direct motorists through the area while this lane switch occurs. The traffic pattern is expected to continue through mid-June.
Wide loads will be restricted to 11 feet.
Dave O'Mara is the state's contractor for this $333,671 project.
