Police offer gun locks for free

The Columbus Police Department is giving away free cable locks for firearms as part of Project Child Safe.

Lt. Matt Myers, spokesman for the police department, says the cable locks are a secure way to store firearms in homes with small children. The free cable locks are available from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday, at the police department's main lobby.

That's on the ground floor of City Hall, 123 Washington Street.
